Crops

Potatoes, chicory roots and sugar beets are plants that are used by Cosun to produce a wide range of plant-based food products and ingredients, such as fries, mashed potatoes, sugar and sugar specialities, as well as dietary fibres. Next to dietary fibres, the production of plant proteins is a growth area. We produce fava protein from fava beans, for example, and are currently developing ways to produce protein from potatoes, sugar beet leaves and brewers’ grains. Read more here about the different crops and protein sources.
The potato is a nutritious and versatile root vegetable. Read more about the role of the potato and potato products in a sustainable diet here.
